Transferring i'net faves to a new PC

I'm going to be changing my PC soon. How do I transfer/save all my current favourite internet sites so as I can transfer them?

I think a little more infor is probably required to get the best answer.

What windows system are you running, do you have USB, do you have a CD/DVD writer, that sort of thing.

Thsi is for Windows XP but it might work with other models

Click my computer > local disk C > documents and settings > your user name/log in e.g "Mark" > there should be a favourites folder there which looks like a star.

Copy this folder paste into your memory stick/CD-RW, and transfer it to your new pc.

Or use Winzip (find it on google) and host the file on www.putfile.com or other sites which allow you to host .zip files, then download the file on your new pc.

Postdog - I'm not very "techy minded", but I think I'm currently running Windows 98. I haven't bought my new PC yet (thinking of getting a Dell).

Sorry, I misread the question - all I read was new/old PC and thought you wanted to transfer everything.

The other answer says it all - might even fit on a floppy.

For all versions of Windows, in IE go to File/Import & Export and follow the instructions. Point the file transfer to export to whichever medium you wish to use i.e. floppy,CD,Pen drive etc . On the new PC follow the same procedure except that here you will obviously be importing Favourites.

Anyone else have any advice on which PC to buy? I'm not fabulously techie-minded - as long as I can use MS Word and Excel plus have fast internet (and possibly music download) speed, i'm not bothered.

Surrey guy just typr dell into google along with a few other choice words and see what happens, they are pretty useless machines. But on the TV the would have you believe they are supercomputers for 200 quid..lmao, you get what you pay for.
