Robin Reliants

Im looking for a Robin Reliant (dont laugh) and i have heard you can use them on a Provisional license? does anyone know if this is true and is insurance cheaper then a normal car? any help welcome Thanks :)

I don't know if its is still true, but think you used to be able to drive a Reliant on a bike licence (not a provisional licence) provided you disabled the reverse gear - thus making it a three wheel motorbike. Probably an urban myth - and not very practical if you ever wanted to get back out of that parking space.

It's not a myth - the law changed in 1963. But more recent changes mean that you can't even ride a large motorcycle without being supervised. There are more details on the DVLA website, although it is not very clear on this point. http://www.dvla.gov.uk/welcome.htm
