i splashed the cash, 250 quid with delivery and bought the V7 motorhead, or some such word. I tried it out and it
deposited dust on the living room carpet, a brand new machine, not pleased to say the least. I have fully charged it and will try it later, if it does the same i will go
bananas. or ring dyson for an explanation.

We have that exact model and it’s fine. Battery life could be better but it’s worth the convenience of no cord.

You pull up the red ‘catch’ on the top to open the cylinder which then releases the bottom ‘lid’ to empty it. DONT do it without having it over a bin! ;-)

the dust just came out of the bottom of the machine and
deposited it across my floor, its a brand new vacuum cleaner so it shouldn't do that.

It was but a joke, some vacuum cleaners have a “dust lid” which is the lid to the component that allows you to empty the device

maybe, but i hadn't used it, i tested it once it was assembled. dust was the first thing that happened, exactly like my G Tech air ram, that's why i bought a new cleaner, because the old one deposited trails of dirt across the carpet.

Does the dyson keep dropping dust? Or was it a one time ting then it hoovered it back up?

will have to give it another go, to see what it does, but it shouldn't deposit dust being a brand new cleaner.
