Safari Search Engine

ON ipad mini. I tried to use google to search and now I am stuck with it, I dont like the layout and want to use Safari to search again, how do I change it back? in Settings I just get the option of Google, Yahoo, Bing.

Open a new tab.
Click to put the cursor in the empty URL field.
Press the spacebar.
You should then be offered a choice of search engines.
Click on the one you want.
(There's no such things as Safari's own search engine though).

Safari isn’t a search engine. It’s a browser.

Open safari and then hit new tab the plus sign in the top left. Type what you are searching for in the long bar across the top of the screen. Leave your settings as google.
