More guesses here i am afraid. Who mentioned the term GIST? If that is confirmed then it is unlikely to be malignant and have nothing to do with his bladder cancer. Are we talking about a "medical " stomach or a "laymen's" stomach? If it is the former, then it is unlikely to be malignant BUT if it is in the abdomen , it could be in the liver, peritoneum or anywhere. The...

The biopsy will reveal all.
My guess.......it is unlikely to be malignant based on the information that you have given.

You will have to bear with me, My mum sent me a hurried message of what was written on the endoscopy report, she has a tendency to get words mixed up and/or not notice auto correct. This is what she sent:
The 3cm lesion seen on the c t scan appears to to gist in the in the cardiac pillow sign not present the mass is hard3 biopsies from the same site taken hospital says they are not always helpful they will refer to uni MDT for discussion with a view to proceed to E U S with F N A if appropria

erm - yeah and on a point of order
GIST is associated with transitional cell of bladder

rock hard makes it pretty unlikely to be a cyst
and of course they dont biopsy without reason
but dont despair ! I had ca colon 1999 and then an associated lymphoma ( 5% - but clearly 100% for me) - 2012
and er I'm not using a ouija board !

hmmm, interesting, I am worried to be honest because he is losing a lot of weight and struggles with eating, he has persistent indigestion and stomach pain. The consultant also mentioned he has a spot on his lung, I am not sure if they are going to investigate this yet, they were more concerned about the lump in his stomach.
I think it is best you wait for all the results. I know it is difficult but it sounds like they are suspicious that the lump (s) are possibly cancer either new primaries or secondary spread and you shouldn't discount this but they have to eliminate the worst options before they can tell what is going on. Even if it is a worse case scenario it is likely some sort of treatment will be offered. I hope it is something simple and curable.
