A Chester Pub

Anyone know a really good pub in Chester? Good restaurant? A friend's going there tomorrow (and overnight) and thought I'd try to find him somewhere good to go....

I have dined twice at a lovely place called The Chef's Table, delicious well cooked food with veggie options, if required. It is in the city centre. Maybe google it gg and see if your friend would like it.

Restaurant. Try Convivio. Just across the road is a pretty good place for a drinky poos the Architect. I have not posted links because I know you can do the research. Both are a bit non centre( the roundabout by the law courts). Town centre pub? Ye Olde Boot Inn.

Just seen the "overnight" bit. The Abode is fine. We stay there if overnighting. The Grosvenor hotel is of course the place if you have the means. Tip the Abode is between the Architect and Convivio. The old Police HQ as it was. Right on the roundabout. Book a parking space in advance!

Thanks for the tips, have passed them on. Don't know about 'real', but he's certainly an ale fan, so The Tap sounds a good place to start...

We stayed at the Premier Inn last October and dined at a Thai Restaurant a couple of doors down. It was delish, but being uncomfortably pregnant I couldn't do it justice :-(

The old mill is a bit dated but friendly. Beer is well kept. Fond memories as it is where I went with Dave on our first date
