Bellpush - Sensitising
37 Answers
New bell, posh one (Honeywell), wireless, all very good.
Except the bellpush has to pressed firmly in the centre, otherwise no signal.
Tried dismantling the push (to bend the spring or something) but it doesn’t come to bits (the battery being round the back).
So, any tricks for making the push more sensitive, or for getting inside it?

But over that period we have noticed some people using the knocker, and finally we asked a neighbour why she knocked, and she explained the problems with the bell-push. We tried, and it is fine in the centre, but if you press the periphery it doesn't make contact (as Gingebee said above).
So no, we can't return it so late, and no, it's not just an ornament. If you push the centre of the bell-push, it works perfectly.
Hence the original question about repairing the BELL-PUSH!!

I am old. When things go wrong, old gits like me attempt to repair them, not ditch them..
So am I old but not too old to know that most modern things are not "user friendly" which means us old gits shouldn't attempt to dismantle and repair them. Unfortunately it is a throw away society and you only end up with your warranty null and void for tampering with the item. Safer,as advised,to get a refund or exchange then you won't be out of pocket.
