When was the last time you saw a real life police officer on a street near you?
Or even the person who was not a real police officer but had a police type uniform?
What are they called?
Have you ever tried reporting a
theft to the police and been met by a shoulder shrug and complete indifference?
No details logged?
No crime number given?
A force for what?
Not for the protection of the public
Hardly ever see them on foot. They did knock on the door last week to ask if I had a tall ladder they could borrow. They pointed to a neighbour's house that they needed it for then realised they had the wrong house. Would have been funny to see the reaction when they tried to climb in the window.
We were burgled a few months back. The first call was to our bank as they stole my laptop. Phoned the police on 111 and they were round within the hour and told us always phone 999 about burglaries. Despite what is reported they do have cars on the street ready to go...
/// I have no idea where or how you live but it does not sound pleasant, good luck. ///
If hazydaisy lives in an area where she hardly ever sees a police officer on a street near her, then I would suggest that she lives in a more pleasant area (less crime) than you Baldric.
Mr aog
I would suggest that the bullet points daisy made in her Op would indicate that she had been a victim of crime and was not a happy daisy at the police response.
Never see a police officer on foot round my area. However, I do occasionally see them in cars. We also have community wardens who patrol the streets in some areas.
I certainly had the impression that hazy was pointing out the lack...where needed...of police.
I see plenty...in town, in my local park, near the Sally, which I pass frequently, at or near my work-a homeless drop in. I had a bag stolen on the bus a few months ago, and had suitable follow up...not much could be done under the circumstances.
