For exemple, one character is english and the other is french and instead of translating everything in one language we can just read both at the same time..?

erm the only I can think of is ...
Tolstoy War and Peace - first edition - partly written in French and partly in Russian
then he decided he was Russian after all and got the second edition all in Russian.

remember that traductions ( translations ) are not usually very good. I read Les Miserables in translation and then Dickens Oliver Twist and it was immediately obvious why the translator (or traducteur) translated for peanuts and why Dickens was a very rich successful author
Dickens is interesting: his French characters’ words are rendered in English but you almost feel the original French.
oh Golly back to the Tale of Two Cities
it was on tel the uvva day - Dirk Bogarde

( hey you can really touch my estuarial accent innit huh? - or n'est-ce pas?)

He found it such a strain that he said he would never do a historical novel again ( he hired a gopher for the detail ) and then he did Barnaby Rudge - well arteests dont have to tell the truth

People did my mothers trick - yeah that's right my muvva used to ring him up and say:
" Mr Dickens - that detail is wrong" - and then point out....

hey did you notice in the film - Stryver calls him Sidney and I reckon it would be Stryver and Carton no matter how close they were

and in Vanity Fair they do a breakfast scene with the candles on? Not enough light to do without I think
Charlotte Bronte's 'Villette' is the nearest I can come up with.
