In 2004 (it may have changed recently) TOED did not have healthcare as a word.

Was this word just invented to use in 'healthcare trusts'? Is this a word just invented to be used by politicians?

It is still listed only as two words in the online version. Possibly, as you say, just invented as a single word as a political convenience. Hyphenated, it is an American construction from the 1970s.

There has been some resistance to this word as it is a mis nomer (some people say)

When you kiss a sick child or punch a pillow or change a bed, waht one is delivering is not health care, altho' it may be care or nursing care.

Health is what you have or dont

Being healthy is a state.....
