Many years ago I worked for a bureau run by local at the time mayor of th town.
I worked for numerous companies as a temp for a couple of years.
I fell ill and tried to claim sickness benefit.
I was told I had no entitlement to benefits as I had paid no NHS contributions.
Luckily I had all my payslips to show I had paid each week NI and income taxes.
There was a court proceeding and the mayor of the town was imprisoned for falsifying accounts.
I got my sickness benefit!!

yes, always keep your documents - I used mine to claim about 20 years of back pay that had been overlooked. Bet that cheered you up!
