Cheapest Way To Send Parcel?

I have to send two sets of duvet covers to someone and the Post Office is quoting insane prices as it’s over 2kg. Does anyone know the cheapest way I could send these?? X

Hermes.... go read their FB page......terrible.

DHL will pick up from your home and are as cheap as Hermes with good tracking, I've never had any problems with them delivering my stuff.

Collectplus broke a tea set then said it was not covered by Insurance even though I'd paid extra! They are as bad as My Hermes. Read the small print.

CollectPlus should never have accepted your parcel, Lydia. Their website clearly states that glass and china are prohibited items that they won't handle.

One year I had stuff to send to London for Christmas, it was cheaper to take them in person postage would have been £18 return on the coach £5.50. Had lunch with mum and came home. Tiring but saved money and cheered mother up.

I hear Hermes has a bad reputation but i use them a lot and never had a problem.

Do you know anybody with a Fedex account - can be as low as 7 quid for up to 20kg if they are a decent-sized account. Otherwise Hermes perhaps....

It looks like you've already settled on Collect Plus (which I'm happy to continue recommending) but I'm amazed that nobody here has suggested going through a parcel broker. Doing so not only gets you quotes from lots of different services but can also get you discounts on those that you've tried directly. (In particular, you can get far lower prices with ParcelForce by paying online through a brokerage site and then handing over your parcel, without further payment, at your local post office).

Why can’t the Post Office offer a similar service?
