type of job seekers allowance
1 Answers
If I have just left university after a 4 yr course, the first 3 years I was working casual earning money. What type of job seekers allowance will I be applying for? I have an application form to complete from my local job centre and an appointment but I am unsure to which parts of the form I need to complete - Contribution based or Income based?I am a single 25 yr old living back with 1 parent.

Contribution based JSA is only based on the National Insurance you have paid in the last 2 tax years, so if you have been working p/t then poss not paying NI its doubtful you will qualify for it. As you are single and living with parents you will most likely be receiving IB JSA.
Fill in both parts and the Jobcentreplus office will decide which you receive after checking your NI record.
