hope you have a bonzer result. to go with the tinny chuck a few snags on the Barbie xx
Thanks for the support and good wishes, yes, a Sandstone Quarry, brand new setup, no employees or sandstone actually cut yet.

Strangest interview I've ever been to.

For starters it took us two hours to locate each other, remote rather large property, no phone service, signage, etc.

He wasn't interested in looking at resumes or references.
Had a good chat about what he wants, what I may be able to achieve.
More heavy earth moving equipment arriving in the next two weeks, call back, test drive, see how things pan out.

Something I've never been involved in, who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

I have enjoyed pottering around creating sticks of furniture for the last two years but maybe it's time for a real job.

Ten years of working life left in me, a new challenge would keep me occupied.

Fingers crossed.

And once again, thanks for the support ;-))
Hey well done, 1ozzy. Sounds good anyway.
I now have a vision of an Aussie Fred Flintstone sliding down his diggersaurus at the end of his shift although Yabbadabbadooo sounds more like a place name from the out back.
Then me and the Missus will pile the kids in the car, treddle to the takeaway and order Brontosaurus Burgers ;-)
Civilisation has arrived down under then. Seriously though glad it went well. Yep 10 years is long enough for another work adventure.
A bit like a second coming, I hope Rowan.

Second?, replace that with many.

I get bored reasonably quickly.

If someone is willing to give me a go at my age how could I refuse?
Still think I have at least one more road to take. Just waiting for the energy to come back a bit. Easily bored too, had a few different paths myself, Advertising, transport, nursing, admin, on the side a little dabble with hair dressing, soft furnishings, a craft painted glass business, and gardening, oh yes and part time Anne Summers rep. Could have changed the world if I could have focused on one thing
I’ve had lots and lots of different jobs over the years. Never found one I was content with though. Now I don’t work as I’m retired. Strange really as now I have not time enough too work.
Nobody would have the time to read the list of different careers I've had.
Enjoyed them all, to a degree.

It's time for a final thrust.

//Strange really as now I have not time enough too work.//

I've heard lots of retirees say that David and believe it's true, but, not quite for me yet. My time will come.
When you are ready Rowan, choose something random, something entirely different, who knows where the path will lead.
good luck 1ozzy with your new adventure.
wot is sandstone used for. Dont forget the metal dtctor
Sandstone is a good building material tam. Many famous building are built with it.
Spose sandstone houses are less combustible than usual Oz weatherboard. Good luck for the job but I hope you find 5kilo gold we can share
Doubt there is any gold under the sandstone Tambo.
If there is and I find it and hide it from the boss I promise to share it with you.

Most of the Aussie sandstone that is quarried is exported to countries that can afford to pay for it.
if its granite slabs it might end up in our warehouse that Welshy uses for kitchen fittings.
Bonzer!
