If I convert a file that is .AVI using Winavi, does it make a copy of the file so in effect you have 2 files (1 .AVI & 1 .MPEG) or does it convert the one file and replace it?

Also the files I want to convert are 700MB, what size will the resulting convert be??

It outputs an mpeg file rather than physically converts your original (so you do have 2 files). A 350MB file normally comes out at around 425MB if memory serves.
