Physio Plus Paracetamol?

Mrs B broke her wrist, and was in plaster. Now out of plaster, and being given physiotherapy at the NHS hospital.

Going okay, except that the physio insists she (Mrs B) takes paracetamol before attending her sessions as she should expect some pain during the exercises.

I think this is barmy. My physio (great guy, been using him for 'maintenance' for years), has never hurt me to the extent I need pain killers, and I'd be very surprised if he ever did.

It's common especially after an acute Injury. What it does is allow them to work a little harder for the same degree of discomfort. It is also a reassurance against fear of it hurting, so the patient doesn't tense up so much therefore it hurts les.

I think that is a good idea as she may well have to re-educate muscles that have been inactive for several weeks.
I would suggest Ibuprofen myself as it has a more anti-inflammatory punch myself, but that is just a personal opinion.

It's quite common for therapists to recommend taking painkillers like this. Hope all goes well.
