As so often now many clues are not literary. Tiddlers three please.
Former excitement is something to celebrate in best poem by Suffolk writer(4,6)I have the first word Late and A.s.o. for the second.
A book like Primary Colors,or maybe John Berger’s G(3,5) .e. Novel.
Knock off wife and young girl endlessly? That’s Falstaff’s dirty linen (6)s.w.a.
Am open to correction with my conclusions thus far of course.
Thanks. I can’t make anything of the Berger clue. New novel is more to do with French writers like Georges Perec. There is a connection which eludes me and as usual it’s a tiddler.
Ingenious connection but it should be more than visual I guess. Will think again on the morrow. Enjoying a programme about Frankie Howerd too much to think about the clue.
Ready to concede the answer and sorry if I still sound grudging but in terms of a Venn diagram there’s about 5% overlap between the two clues. Still sounds like Broteas did this one in a hurry. Thanks to one and all(not Broteas!)for picking away the layers.
