ac3 is the same thing as dolby digital i think, and these 2 just differ from dts in the way algorithms are used to encode the sound. dts is higher bitrate. following webpage should be of use to you (credit to someone on the dvdforums for posting this): http://home.clear.net.nz/pages/adbarr/page1.html
