Emmerdale

Sorry, not very good with character names but it's about Ashley's niece who's discovered she's pregnant by Cain.
I was watching Emmerdale last night (bits and pieces of it) when I heard her telling the doctor she wanted an abortion. I then heard the doctor say "Let's deal with one thing at a time - did you have protected sex?" Doh..................yes of course she did, that's why she's pregnant!!!!!!!!!!

Well, if she's pregnant then 'of course' she could have contracted something. If she'd used a condom then it had obviously split.
Even if the answer to that question was "Yes, we used a condom" the doctor would still want to run other tests because it had obviously failed miserably! So why ask such a stupid question in the first place?

I think I just wanted to see if anyone else thought it a pointless question. It was one of those times when you think 'hasn't anyone picked this up when reading through the script?' Interesting to see that both replies are from Ab'ers who have assumed the doctor was a he though - when infact the doc was female.
Would still be interested to know if anyone else picked up on this last night though. :o)

No, not at all. I run assessment centres a couple of times a year for the Public Sector where Equal Ops, Diversity awareness etc etc. play a major part. I pick up on these things quickly, but it's good..................I'd be a fool to think people no longer made assumptions about sex, race etc. and it's all helpful. Better get on with some work now. Have a good day 4getmenot. :o)
Yasmin does believe she is pregnant and has done a pregnancy test to prove positive too. Adam Forsythe was the male doctor but he is an imposter as he has murdered Steph Stokes's brother. He is now on the run. The real Doctor Adam Forsythe is dead, he took his identity. Incidentally the guy who plays the elusive Dr Forsythe is a fantastic singer in real life and has just released a cd called Top Cat.
