The thought of having four of them scares me. Do you get to sleep on the big bed? Or do you just get the bit at the edge, risking falling off every time you move?

I tend to sleep downstairs on the sofa. Chequers likes to sprawl across my chest but it's usually Biscuit who ends up pinning me in an uncomfortable position for hours at a time.
The last time I tried sleeping on my bed, which is a bit narrower than a normal single at just 2'6" wide, the arrangement was that Chequers and Moonbeam took up 1'6" on top of the duvet and furthest from the adjacent wall, leaving me just 1' to myself next to a cold wall. (However that wasn't really 'to myself' anyway, as Biscuit was tucked up under the duvet with me!). I find the sofa in the living room rather more comfortable (and it's in the only room with any heating in it too).

PP, nobody should be forced to live with that odious woman and her creep of a husband.

My cats have got links to senior politicians anyway.
Chequers was given his name, in part, because of the link to the PM's country residence (although being black & white, like a chequers board was the first link in my mind).
I named Moonbeam after the pattern on his coat, which reminded me of the patterns created by clouds scudding across the moon but, when I googled to see if there were any other cats with the same name, I found that a former Prime Minister of New Zealand had a cat called Moonbeam too.
