All day, I have not been able to scroll down on Facebook. So can only read a few items. Is this to do with the major problems with FB currently? I only really lurk on FB, read a few posts from just a few "friends", and contribute to 3 gardening forums.

I think they're only letting you read a few items. If you want more you have to find more friends.

There was a post on FB earlier saying that lots of people were having issues with it.

I think it was The Sun which posted as it said users were 'outraged'
