Where can I find top ten charts for weeks in the past? I have googled until I can google no more!

whilst not strictly what you're looking for, http://www.everyhit.com/retrocharts/ contains charts by month or part-month, which should give you an idea of the chart for the week you're interested in.

Thanks but they don't do the months I need (August 2004 and March 06).

Try www.britishhitsingles.com It is a website by Guiness Publishing who published British Hit Singles and Top 40 Charts. These two books will tell you everything you need and you can search for most things on their website.
