Well, were you all queuing up today? Apparently they were in line from 7 am in Dundee for this £20 soft toy.

Aldi’s Christmas character Kevin the Carrot has inspired shoppers to queue at supermarkets to get their hands on newly launched stuffed toys in his likeness.

Queues were reported ahead of stores opening as families woke up early to get their hands on the toys.

Earlier this month, Aldi released its Christmas campaign featuring Kevin for a third consecutive year.

I think I was the only one in our branch on Thursday that had no idea about the toys being sold!

At that time in the morning there is normally 1 till in operation and you have to wait for the member of staff to come and serve - then they go back to the shop floor!

On Thursday 4 tills were on and queued. I looked up the belt and then down the belt - all you could see was carrots - except for me!

Only 2 days Chris?
Madness!! Am I glad my boys are pass all that. It was bad enough in Aldi trying to get school uniforms for my granddaughter. The fights I tell ya!
That's brilliant, Tony......I'm going to chop carrots up and give them to the kids as Kevin jigsaws.....bit like when the daughter's goldfish died and I carved one from a carrot and put it in the bowl..... :-)
You should have used a bit of carrot peel and ate it, gness ;-)

Did you then bring it ^^^ slowly to the boil gness?
Okay, truth.......I put the carrot carved goldfish in a plastic bag (not a bowl) with weeds and gave it to the daughter....
She then did an odd thing for a shy little sevenish year old girl....
She took it through the hole in the hedge to show the elderly couple next door.....
Fred was admiring the fish when she put her hand in the bag and popped the carrot/fish into her mouth, crunched and swallowed it......god knows where she gets that weird sense of humour from........ ;-)

I only knew what happened when Fred came staggering through the hole in the hedge shouting to me that **** had eaten her goldfish.....x

Luvving it :o)
The first time I saw the goldfish trick I was only young and it was on Candid Camera - not having seen the lead up, I cried like a good un.
Gawd knows, gness ;-)

Thats where I first saw it done to, Mamya. Along with the car with no engine.
I recall seeing the goldfish trick too......I was just having a bit of fun with the daughter to cheer her up....
The daughter was far too young to have seen it so god knows what possessed her to go next door and pretend to eat a goldfish...... :-)
The rag and bone man that used to come around when I was a kid used to give us a goldfish or a balloon for rags ( amazing what went missing from washing lines ) 9 times out of ten the goldfish would be dead next morning though.
