Crossword puzzles

Can anyone tell me where I can get access to decent crosswords such as the UK folks all seem to have. If I do do a crossword on the internet from a UK site (few available) I find myself at a disadvantage if some person in the UK is doing the same crossword and requires help - I am five hours behind and by the time I get around to helping their query has been answered. I do come into my own at night when all the folks "over the pond" are in bed and I can pick up some loose ends and unanswered questions. Must say that all the UK folks seem like a great bunch and I'm happy to join with them on this site.

When you get the page up look to the left and look for
-crossword - and you can print it off. It comes out monthly towards the end of the month this last one came out Thurs I think. Where about - Over the pond - are you?

Welcome ontarioce
The bad news is the Generalist (for August) has already been done and dusted!!
This monthly xword from Prospect Magazine comes out around 25th day of the month (I do not know, but maybe there is a precise dating for when this xwod is available online?)
Are there any online xwords on your side of the big pond? - maybe us old folks over this side of the pond could improve our knowledge?

Hi Panda Bear
I shall wait patiently until next month for the Generalist. As far as crosswords on this side of the pond - few and far between, at least in this area of Ontario. There is a good Saturday one in the Toronto "Globe and Mail." I've never actually looked to see if it was online, but will do and let you know. Right now we are about to go out for supper. (Chinese nosh tonight) but I'll be online tomorrow. Unfortunately, the Sunday Express will be finished by you lot when I sign on. By the way, my bro-in-law scans it and emails it to me. My weekly treat.

Thanks to Shaneystar2 especially for the Lovatt's site which seem to be quite popular.
Also thanks to macpak - if we are writing about the same crossword then 12A clue is Mrs Helen Porter Armstrong?
lady-p-gold; the time difference between the UK and Ontario, Canada is five hours so if you are doing your crossword at 9 in the morning I am (hopefully) still asleep as it is only 4 a:m Ontario time.

To Brooksy: Yes you do have quality newspapers in the UK and also, like ourselves, some trash as well.
Yes, our climate is like a yo-yo, but in this part of Ontario at least our winters are milder. Coldest it's been since we moved here has been -20C. When we lived further north in Ontario we used to bundle up for -40C.

Hi lady_p_gold
It's now 10 a:m here in Ontario and I am about to print out my Sunday Express UK crossword. I presume that most folks in the UK will have most of it, or all of it done by now as it is 3 in the afternoon there. It is kind of you to wait for you friend in Los Angeles so that you can do the crossword together. Nice lady.
