(sought of)
Currently decorating my sons/girlfriends new flat.
In the hallway they currently have a baton with 4 coat hangers on it. One of the hangers is snapped/broke. I wanted to replace all hangers but try as I might I cannot unscrew the hangers. The screws have obviously been painted over, over the years so I have tried burning out the paint, chipping out the paint etc but when I get down to the actual screw it just wont budge. I have tried loosening them with a claw hammer, trying to get a bit of leverage between the screw and the baton etc but to no avail.
Has anyone here any idea how to unscrew a really tight screw?
Do you want to save the baton? If not just chisel around the screw (into the baton) until the screw sticks out proud and use mole grips round the head of the screw and gently twist anti-clockwise
Slew/screw
Think that I need an early night.
Perhaps reading into things that arnt there. Been decorating since 7 this morning (up since 5)....perhaps the paint fumes are addling my brain!!!
Thanks for replies, much appreciated!
