Stopped watching this years ago, but I see the UK is changing the selection process for our entry.
I've always said the UK will always come bottom of the pile even if Adele was up there belting out one of her finest. But I wonder what the Brexit factor will have among voting countries. Perhaps some of the EU countries will either say 'good for you' or 'traitors for leaving us in the lurch' and vote accordingly. Not sure how the non-EU countries will view it.
The U.K. does badly in Eurovision because we don’t take it seriously, musically. We twiddle away with anodine offerings that are popular with Saturday night TV audiences but no one else.
And other countries are bemused by that fact, which doesn’t help.
Brexit nothing to do with it I’d suggest.
What are the changes as a matter of interest?
It’s a lot harder to win now of course as there are a lot more countries involved than in the days of Katy Boyle, Simon Dee and Bucks Fizz.
Yes it’s a favourite national pastime moaning about how Europe hates us. Especially by people who aren’t otherwise interested in it.
In 2003 the U.K. got nil points for the first time because a hopeless duo sang embarrassingly out of tune. I don’t think
“Brexit” will top that
