Yes I think you’re right, Max. There was an interesting article by Nick Timothy in the Torygraph yesterday which concluded with this:
Brussels has screwed Britain, Remainers have screwed the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister has screwed the Leavers. The result is the Establishment has screwed the public.
The principle architect of all this screwing has been Mrs May, ably assisted by most of Parliament. She “negotiated” with the EU whilst informing them that, so desperate is the country for a “deal”, that she would capitulate to just about anything they demanded (and she did). Parliament, despite voting five to one to invoke A50 obviously, with a few exceptions, with little intention of allowing a proper Brexit to follow. Mrs May is now in a trap of her own making: her deal will be (quite rightly) comprehensively rejected by the Commons; the EU will not renegotiate it; Parliament will not countenance a “No Deal” exit. Mr Timothy is absolutely correct.
