Argument does not mean quarrel, it means rational discussion to arrive at a conclusion. Here are some bad arguments - (1) It's the economy, stupid. (2) Read my lips. (3) Get a life. (4) Project fear. (5) It's in the Bible/Koran so it must be true. The list goes on........
I didn't really want to spark a quarrel. I just feel that there is a lot of loose language here that is not very intelligent. Mere assertions are not enough. And if they are rude or cliched, that's even worse.
I've found that when someone attempts to initiate a discussion with an absurd assertion there's usually no point in so much as stating your disagreement let alone attempt to carry on a rational discussion with them. I reserve that for any others in attendance who might be rational enough to appreciate the difference.
