How much can I expect an electrician to charge for a call out please?

I have recently had work done and the electrician charged £70 per hour. However mine was a non urgent call out.
Wow, money for old cable.

The above suggests £210 a day, so £70 for a call out seems rather excessive.
I should also add, it was very difficult to get hold of one! lots and lots of phone calls and everyone was too busy, so good luck!

Not very good news then, still, I will have to bite the bullet and call one, as all lights keep going off, thank you all.
Callout charges vary like mad, Biccy. No need to pay the ridiculous rate that Purist had to suffer.

Look for a local guy with a van, who works on his own. There are plenty of them. Try your local paper or even Parish magazines.

they have people that can do all jobs
