Cold Mountain....up there with Saving Private Ryan

Have just seen CM and rate it 10/10...it swept me away...didn't look at my watch once...hardly touched the snacks i brought........havent seen a film as good since Saving Private Ryan.....am I over rating it?

Have to say, I liked it too, even though I wasn't expecting to as I find Nicole Kidman freaky and Jude Law highly up himself. But they both acted very well and I have since warmed to Law. The way the story was told, all the characters and the cinematography were all superb and the product is a deeply engaging and moving piece of work.

Seems like we have similar tastes as Saving Private Ryan is one of my favourite films - if only for the bit when Matt Damon is describing his last day with his brothers. His performance in that one scene was probably the best I have ever seen by any actor.
