Yes , but we have a local cake shop that makes all its own cakes on the premises. Their Gateau is better than all but a very few could manage. They also bake 'to order' you can specify what you want and choose the design .They regularly win awards for their cakes.

No becaue i've never tried to make a Gateau so i've no clue where to start with the creamy bit

I make a lovely Black Forest trifle with kirsch steeped chocolate cake, black cherries, chocolate mousse, finished off with Baileys whipped cream.
