Just read that she has a history of shoplifting: https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/7897417/stacey-dooleys-tragic-childhood/ I've never been comfortable with ex burglar Gino d'Acampo being on telly, nor was I with convicted murderer Leslie Grantham. Not a great example to young people, are they, or do you think everyone should be given a second chance?

that was what, 15 years ago? Second chances are fine by me; in fact the way she's turned her life around ought to be seen as inspirational.
I think Stacey deserves a second chance definitely, she has more than made up for her past mistakes and seems like a really lovely girl.
Just seen a journalist's quote: "Stacey's favourite to lift the trophy".

Not a comment about her past, just a report that she's the bookies' favourite to win the competition.

It made me chuckle.
What a totally Beechy post.

Stacey Dooley is a credit to her determination to pull her self up from a very hard childhood to where she is now. Young people in a similar situation can look to her story ( and she has always been up front about this) and take hope and aspiration to make the best of themselves whatever that may be.
I also disagree that her documentaries are insincere.
Just my daft sense of humour, I'm sure the journalist didn't use the phrase to deliberately cast doubt on Stacey's integrity, 'twas a faux pas on his part.

I wish the girl well and would be pleased to see her win the competition.
I would rather Stacey win than others who have dance routine and stage experience.
Me too, ZM.
Windywillow, apologies to you if you thought my previous post was aimed at you -it wasn't, it was aimed at the OP. Sorry
No worries AL, and thanks for the explanation.
