Managers Discretionary Sick Pay
3 Answers
Managers discretionary sick pay how should it work .
What I’m finding is some employees who have very little time off are getting nothing others who seem to be off all the time are getting pay.
How should the management be working this scheme to make it fair and is there something under law to govern this .

If a 'little time off' could be perceived as not genuine or that the person was not too sick to work, compared to a more long term situation where perhaps an operation or illness were involved, then it could be seen as fair. Hard to say without more information.
Also it may be SSP being paid, not company pay, as that doesn't kick in until 4 days continuous absence
