Re 24d yes I think the s is correct. I had considered triad but this I think is a generalisation for chinese gangs wheras my understanding of the clue was for a specific 'gang'? As always I could be wrong!!

I think that TRIAD is correct and that 28a is WANDERING NERVE so your S is not correct.
