Then by that token, Jim, nothing would ever get done. Any decisions taken by Parliament could not be implemented so long as there is a modicum of opposition to them. Endless debate and discussion must take place, additional votes cast until a concensus - however unlikely - is secured. Not a good idea, I would suggest.

The decision has been taken to leave the EU. What our politicians need to do - especially since that decision was endorsed by more than 80% of them - is to get on with it rather than trying to reverse or disguise it. The EU placing obstacles in the way to try to secure an advantage over us should not have come as a surprise and is not a good reason to re-think the decision.

But ‘leave’ has been redefined and seems to be a moving feast. It also seems to be very subjective depending on which leave voter you talk to. There’s no real need for censure as leave voters often contradict each other.
