DVD Playback

whenever i put a dvd into my dvd rw drive it auto tries to play thru media player but then it comes up with a WMP error saying its an unknown dvd and it cannot be played. it tells me to change my screen res and colour settings to lowest, so i did tht and still nothing..... any ideas? or if not, any programs good for dvd playback?

This usually is a 'codec' problem - needed to play DVDs - don't know why even Media Center (sic) has this problem. Usual solution is to install Power DVD/Win DVD etc. if they come with the drive. Otherwise try this one recommended by most people:-
