Where does your baby sleep?
We've been attending Antenatal classes, there were also 4 other couples attending. The subject of where new babies should sleep was brought up, by a couple of the men, who it appeared wanted their new babies to sleep in his/her's own room, so their own sleep wouldn't be disturbed.
My partner and I were utterly shocked by this and couldn't understand why it would even be an issue, surely a newborn baby would automatically sleep in a cot, in the parent's room? I would personally be terrified leaving my baby alone, incase he stopped breathing and I was unaware. I could never forgive myself.
Where do or did everyone elses newborn babies sleep and for how long before your baby went into it's own room?

You won't roll over your baby. there is an instinct there. Some people were shocked (it really annoyed me!) They also said we were 'making a rod for our own backs'... All I can say is that our little girl went in to her own cot in her own bed at 14 months immediately. With no fuss. She loves her own bed and now goes to bed every night at 6.30pm and stays there all night happily. When she wakes (between 6.30 and 7), she plays quietly with her toys until one of us goes to get her at 7/715.
I kept both of mine in our room until I stopped night feeding and then they were in their own rooms again in their moses baskets inside the cot until they were big enough to sleep in the cot. Always had the baby monitor on, actually my youngest is nearly 2 and I still have the monitor in his room now.
He wakes me about 6am and will chatter to himself until we go and get him up.
