White Paints

I want to paint over dove grey walls, with white, can anyone recommend an emulsion with good coverage

I find white Dulux emulsion fine. On the other hand Dulux White gloss is fine, if you want it yellow after a couple of years. Can anyone recommend a good gloss paint?

Crown or dulux emulsion is fine, but covering any darker colour will require at least 3 coats for a good white finish, using gloss on walls is a no no, plus it would cost you a tidy penny and look naff. gloss is for woodwork .

I painted over a similar colour in just one coat.

In my opinion and experience you will never get a decent finish with just one coat whatever it says on the tin
