Keen Cyclists

Do any of you have an indoor cycle trainer that you put your bike onto? Hubby bought me one for Christmas and will be setting it up today, is it very noisy? Just wondering which room to put it in so a not to disturb him.
Also is it very different to cycling on the road?

No I haven't got one, Rockrose ,but I suppose the main difference will be the "flat" surface so the speed/rhythym of the pedalling might be boring (for want of a better word)? Assuming your cycle has gears, I suppose you can step up the amount of effort you put into it but only when you are fit so to do.
P.S. - you won't have to wear a skid lid either ;)

Mine isn't noisy ,mind you I cycle on the lowest impact as advised by physio and have it set up on a carpeted floor in the sun room.It only makes a slight whirring noise if I up the impact.I found it boring at first so bought a gadget you can attach to the handle and slot a tablet or kindle into so I can read or watch stuff while I pedal.
