My Neighbor Is Scared Of My Cats
26 Answers
I have four cats and live on the first floor, and they get out in the yard. My neighbor walks through the yard and freaks out when she sees my cats peeking out of the bars. She knows they can squeeze through and get out.
So she followed me in the street until I got home and locked the door, screaming the whole time. And she banged on my door and the shutters and yelled she'll break them, and cursed. She screams every time I happen to run into her.
I told her she can take the other path that goes around the building so she can avoid my cats, but she said it's too close to the garbage cans, and there are cats there, and she's scared. Although there usually aren't any. There are feral cats everywhere where I live.
What would you do, stop letting the cats out? I keep letting them out because they're from the streets, and they go crazy if I don't let them out.

// In British English the floor of a building at street level is called the ground floor. The floor above it is the first floor and the floor below is called the basement.
In American English, however, the floor at street level is usually called the first floor. Go up one floor and you are on the second floor (which, of course, is the first floor for the British). The floor below street level is called the basement, the same as in British English.
One or two of my American friends tell me that in public buildings in the US it’s also possible to call the street-level floor the ground floor, like in Britain. //

stop the cats squeezing through and getting out. then if she carries on screaming and threatening, you will be able to say that you have taken her needs into account and she's still harassing you. Plastic mesh and cable ties cost very little and won't harm the bars. If they are cats who need to be outside maybe you are living in the wrong place?
