Samsung Galaxy Tablet (2016) Not Auto Completing Email Addresses

Something has happened recently to my tablet in that when sending an email I now have to remember every email address or copy and paste it. What could have happened to the address memory or auto complete function.

My email address is gmail.When I see "sync with ...." I'm not sure what this means and could this have anything to do with it.

Go to Settings/Apps & notifications/Apps
Scroll down to your e-mail app, and tap it.
Tap Permissions
Check that Contacts and Storage are both enabled.

Thanks so much. Contacts had been inadvertently disabled. Can now resume being lazy.
