Whats a Blog?

I keep coming across more and more sites about "Blogs" and "Blogging" Should I be worried because I am not Blogging with the rest of the Bloggers on the Blog sites?
What am I missing.

So people who Blog post their thoughts on a webpage for others to view? As you say a diary but for everyone to view? Really? Is that not rather sad or am I missing the greater picture?

It might seem daft and stupid, and a lot are, but some of the most difficult problems I've come across in my field of work have been solved by someone blogging their solution! So I'm quite a fan of them.
