Hello ummmm we have arrived in pathos last night this Aloe hotel seems ok,dinner last night and breakfast this morning was fine ,going to give the raki a miss just got a bottle of Grants stand fast for 9 Euro hope you are feeling better. Xx

Thanks choux sun has just gone down after a lovely day have met some people from our hotel,and I think ummmm is right about a lot of English ,Bristol, Norfolk ,Manchester,Liverpool,and mostly elderly couples,but very friendly think it’s my Scottish accent,another good thing the WiFi all round the hotel is excellent

I just Googled the Aloe Hotel in Paphos and it looks quite nice. The site said that 14 people were presently reading it: I wonder how many of them were other ABers:) Wish I was there...Anyway, enjoy your stay.

Thanks sanmac it seems to be mercury that are doing good deals maybe it has something to do with them closing down for refurbishment in November

I have just been checking on something ummmm said about to much English here,it really is amazing they are into everything bowls,tennis golf,whist ,all predominantly English clubs and you don’t see many Cypriots in cricket whites ,and this is just pafos I wonder about the rest of Cyprus.

Cyprus was handed over to the UK by the Turks after the 1st WW and it became a British administration until EOKA raised it's head. I think Mr Makarious was elected President and the Turks were not happy so they invaded the better half (North) of Cyprus. The Turks were happy for the Brits running the show but not the Greeks. We still have two Sovereign bases there.
