Whilst I dislike Edinburgh we have a free trip there and it would be churlish not to use it whilst staying elsewhere in Bonny Scotland.
So is there a long term carpark that we can park the car that won't cost us the earth also can anyone recommend a good tour of the underground streets whilst there as I have done the Castle and red bus before.
if you leave car at the park and ride at this place http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/Sheriffhall loads of buses into town Mercat tours meet in the high street by the tolbooth for underground tours..also try to include Greyfriars https://www.mercattours.com/
From personal experience I recommend this option for the non-driver in the party who can obviously take care of the four spare whiskies of their companion as well.
Thought the limited time offer of Islay cheese might interest too. :-)
It's worth bearing in mind that our alcohol limit for driving here is consideraby lower than the rest of the UK, to save us from ourselves, obviously.
Doug has a whisky hater - I am well used to being the driver when in Scotland - sure when we go to Islay I am the full time taxi driver!!
Murray - I find Edinburgh too English and visited with the grandparents on many occasion as a child and listened to them complaining about it - so I suppose its rubbed off.
I visited the zoo about 10 years ago and had a blast but we did Edinburgh centre the following day and it chucked it down - which lol did not help the mood!
I absolutely love Edinburgh, it's my second favourite UK city. Not any help to you, I know.
I'd live there quite happily, unless they leave the UK, then I wouldn't.
Drivers hopkirk Drivers, also Edinburgh is being ruined by air bed and breakfast, and Edinburgh is not just the castle and Princess street places like West Pilton are a Scottish scandal places the tourist don’t see,how do I know this 50 years experience.
