I'm interested in knowing this as well. I don't think it's as simple as she doesn't draw it on anymore.

I'm sure that if you look closely in her American Life video you can see a faint beauty spot where it always was, but as if it had been covered up with make-up.

There are quite a few photos of her before she was famous. Can any of them shed any light on whether it's real or not?

She has always had the gap between her teeth and still has. It only appeared to have disappeared in a mag shoot due to the wonder of airbrushing... I later heard a rumour that she was not happy about this! (the airbrushing I mean)
