I read some years ago, that a frog, put into a pan of water that is heated up, will get so used to the change in temperature, that it will not try to escape but stay until it dies.

Don't know if that is true.

But our society, I believe has suffered incremental changes that we hardly notice, until suddenly we realise how far we have come in terms of immorality, wickedness, and a general downhill journey to irreligious God hating abondonement of decency.

That is my personal view.

Do you approve of the direction our society is going?

I approve of religious freedom which we didn't have when Christianity had a stranglehold in the UK. I approve of equality for all races, sexes, orientations etc that we now have and I don't think one needs a God or Goddess to have a decent moral compass, so I think that one person's morality and wickedness is another persons freedom to live as they choose and decency as we have seen from your recent threads is very subjective.
Nope not at all. Think I’ll hop it.
In general yes I do.
A comment on the first part of your post. Mother of a friend put some winkles in a pan of cold water on the gas. When she came back into the kitchen they were all over the place, she'd forgotten to put a lid on and they didn't like the water getting hotter!
// irreligious God hating//

To be irreligious doesn't equate to hating God. One can hardly hate something that has no meaning.
Surely Christianity does still have some stranglehold in the UK?

It's in the education system the architecture, our monarchs are christian.. Christianity has a strong stand in the UK weather people believe in god or not.
One only has to look at what our MPs are trying to force through in order not to represent us, and extend indecision and uncertainty for our nation and economy, to know one shouldn't approve of the direction they're trying to force on us. Climate change is also a concern. That stated, advances in science and knowledge generally are great for everyone's society.
