Can Someone Explain The Difference Between " Will Of The People" And " People's Vote" ?

Can someone explain the difference between " Will of the People" which the Brextremists have been banging on about enthusiastically for years, and " People's Vote" which they now persistently condemn ?

What has changed their minds ? Is it fear of a reverse now that the people have more information as to what is involved ?

Or are they upset that the subsequent exposure of their lying and cheating may have lost them some support ?

Yes. Anyone opposed to another vote saying "it's not democratic, you're just upset you lost the first vote" is themselves, worried that they will loose the second vote now more information is out.

Will of the people is the expressed democratic decision of the population.

People's Vote is a cynical marketing name used to try to overturn the will of the people, as already expressed in a prior vote, by hoping for a flip flop caused by their perpetual tales of doom, in an effort to reject the democratic decision and get their own way before the previous decision has even been implemented, let alone allowed to work out so one can experience the end result.

I think most of the population are already aware of the remain side's lying and cheating; not that it got them anywhere. But they are still trying.

The problem is similar to that of the Irish. Keep voting until you give the right answer.

In addition no one has told the truth about where the EU will be in 10 years time. One thing I can assure you - it wont look at all like it does now.

It doesn't matter who has changed opinion, nor in which direction. One does not flip flop as that is no way to run the nation. One has the courage to make a decision and then one implements it. Allowing folk to try to act against their nation is bad enough without allowing them additional votes until they get their way. That's what the EU does, and a reason we're leaving. Anyone who thinks voting until a particular answer results is right should move to a nation that thinks the same.

"Will Of The People" is the fundamental principle on which democracy is founded. People have a vote which they exercise to advise the government of the day of their wishes. Once decided, that vote is binding, and it is the moral duty of Parliament to ensure that the electorate's views are carried out as per their expressed wishes.

"The People's Vote" is a cynical made-up label to pretend that the original Brexit vote was ill-informed, and therefore invalid - a nonsense underlined by the motives of the people behind it, to thwart the democratic process purely on the basis that they don't like the result.

The reason why democracy works is because it underlines the simple principle - you don't have to like or agree with what the majority wants, but you do have to abide by it, otherwise, what's the point of asking people in the first place?

I think that's true, but I believe that the main problem was, and still is, the British government's unwillingness to even see, much less acknowledge and work with, the utter contempt in which Britain is held by the EU.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense could have seen that the EU were going to be as difficult as possible - they have to be, to prevent their bureaucratic edifice from collapsing like a house of cards if other members see that leaving is easy, and successful.

The government should have played hardball from day one, calling bluffs, facing down petty unelected gnomes, and walking away with or without a deal.

Of course Cameron set the tone with his pathetic weedling and whining, and calling a referendum because he patently expected to win it, and having lost, he simply tefloned away laughing into lucrative obscurity.

Now we have a government who have vacillated and hang-wrung for over two years, the EU turns the screws, and Britain squeaks.

Add to that a bunch of whining egotists who see their imagined place in history as more important than following democratic process, and this is where we are - careening further into a political and social mess that could have been avoided with the right approach, and the will to do what the people wanted.
