He is now having investigations for a cancer under his right index finger nail. He has an operation scheduled for 14th March.
So far he has had lung cancer. Half his nose removed due to cancer and now this.
Could he qualify for a full body scan to see if there are any more not yet discovered cancers?
I have looked at the prices for a private one and they are nearly £2000.

Oh my goodness, Caran. Your poor hubby. And you.

Best to ask his GP or oncologist.

Yes Cloverjo, I think that's the answer, I will phone tomorrow.
I don't know the answer, doesn't seem an unreasonable request to be fair.
Please accept sincere best wishes to you both for a happy outcome.
I'd request it and be politely insistent as well. Wishing you both well Caran x
Sending best wishes for the upcoming Op, take care both.
I am sorry to hear this Caran, I would definitely ask.

I wish you both well and hope for a positive outcome.
depends how good they are in detecting further cancers - and whether early diagnosis leads to longer life in someone who has had two

(in my case - and I am on no 3 as well - the answer is no - in my case the only discrimiating question that has any validity at all is - "do you feel all right?" - nothing else is a predictor including serial scanning)

Thank you all for positive good wishes.
He feels fine in himself. The only clue to his latest problem is a scarred fingernail. There is something under the nail, the probability is a tumour according to the consultant.
I realise this may sound defeatist but do think before you request this - are you prepared for the possible result?

I mean that with no malice and only thought for you both.

That's ok Mamya. I have talked to him about it. He would rather know if there is anything further going on. Then hopefully it could be dealt with before it was too late.
Hoping for the very best for your hubby, Caran. x
In that case, you're right to ask.x

Peter Pedant how would one go about getting one on Groupon?
It would be a waste of time unless one was looking for an extension of an already diagnosed malignancy...e.g metastasis.
An MRI would not have picked up his nasal cancer or his fingernail lesion.
Don't waste your money, unless advised by a medical practitioner.
