As above looking for ink (complete set) for Epson XP-445. I think the printer was cheaper than the cost for the replacement cartridges, I realise that printer companies make more from consumables.
But to the question, I previously always bought OEM ink but now perhaps time for change. Does anybody have experience using compatible inks or refills. Only printing text documents.
TIA

I use Prink (XP-422) & have never had a problem with them -

I've used Inkredible for years. Their inks are just as good as 'originals' and their service is second to none:

Premier Ink are just as good though (and cheaper for your inks):

Thanks for links guys, always good to have a user recommendation, incredible savings, no more money going in Mr epsons pocket.
I tried for years to get compatibles to work on an Epson before giving up. Absolute nightmare.

Hopkirk savings are massive so worth a try imo, I'll let you know how I get on, good or bad.
My Epson has a hissy fit when I put in non-Epson inks. However, if I turn the thing off and leave it for a few minutes before inserting the alien cartridges, its brain seems to have forgotten about the aliens which then work fine.

Thanks diddly I'll do that then.
I bit the bullet years ago and dumped ink jet printers.
Sick to death of wasting ink doing nozzle cleans.

Bought a colour laser, a bit expensive to start, but, over the long run much cheaper to print, less problems, better quality of print.

Would never own an ink jet printer again.

Ozzy cost is not so much of an issue. With laser printer I also have scanner. I don't do a lot of printing, just a few letters. Plus size, does matter but again ink jet wins.
Each to their own Tony.
The initial purchase cost has more than covered the "print cost"

Like you, I don't print much but bad prints, nozzle cleans and nozzle re-alignments (not to mention wasted paper) are a thing of the past.

Price per page, lack of hassle?
I'm a convert to laser.

Hit the print button, perfect result ;-)

Yes Ozzy, I just do lot's of print previews now (didn't used to) so normally just one print. Not had any particular problems. Must have got a Monday morning m/c not a Friday afternoon one lol.
Get mine from Asda, their own make £5 for a black.
Question Author
Ok mine arrived today from Prink Ltd installed whole new set of cartridges and after some hissy fits from computer and printer telling me they are not correct cartridges prints now, not as crisp as epson but perfectly acceptable for text documents and a huge cost saving

Maglabob got all 4 cartridges + extra black for £8.95
