Will someone please give me the answer to 9D. It's probably as obvious as the nose on my face, but my mind has gone blank. I've finished all the other given clues.
I'm also a first timer so when I have that answer all I need to do is work out the blank bits. I've filled in 1 across but, naturally, without 9D I'm groping in the dark.
Thanks in advance.
I can't take the credit for that. I asked earlier what I was supposed to do with all the "non" clues and Shaneystar2 helped me with that. I'm getting there, slowly but surely, and as whiskey is my favourite drink I think I might just be able to finish on my first try.
Wow! Pandabear. What a lot of whiskey. I do see the one I have entered for 1A, but that's really as far as I've got.
Thanks for your help.
I might add that I didn't realize there were quite so many Scottish whiskey distillers. None of your Johnny Walker Red in that lot.
I've found the lot of them thanks to you, Pandabear.
Next time I raise my glass it will be to you.
First time doing the Generalist and it won't be the last.
By the way, I filled in all the whiskey answers without having answered 24A which I have as cyber something so I don't suppose I can say that I totally finished the whole thing, but darned good first try I'd say - deserves a small tot before bedtime methinks.

I guess I'll have to shop around and find me a dictionary that has The Queen's English spelling in it. Forgive the blooper from across the pond.
Hi ontarioice, good luck, this is a really interesting crossword have done several Shaneystar put it up on the site, and glad she won the July one, am amazed really they take printouts as not making anything from sales so only cost is printout and stamp so great really as some papers for the W/end crosswords are costly. By the way you can spell whiskey its the irish way and will see it on bottles the scotch is whisky this is a great site for help.
Hi Pega
Yes, I agree with you that some of the newspapers want way too much for their crosswords. It doesn't seem fair to those of us who can only get those crosswords on line and who can't buy the actual newspaper.
Thanks for the info re whiskey. I'll remember that whiskey with the e is the Irish way of spelling and whisky without the e is the Scottish way. Thanks for your good wishes.
